A very warm welcome to the new academic year.
Wherever you are reading this across the UAE, we hope you have had a holiday and that the start of term is going smoothly.
As we begin the academic year together, we would simply like to say how much we are looking forward to working alongside you. Over the months ahead, The Pearl will be a place to share useful ideas, celebrate progress and keep you connected with the training, resources and support available through Monster Phonics.
A fantastic commitment to training
Before the year has even properly begun, many teachers have already been working incredibly hard on their Monster Phonics professional development.
A huge congratulations to everyone who has completed Phonics Fundamentals and Core Team Training, and to those currently working their way through the courses.
We know that completing training takes time, particularly alongside everything else involved in preparing for a new academic year. We really appreciate the commitment you are showing to developing your phonics practice and supporting the children you teach.
We want to celebrate your progress
One of the things we would particularly like to do this year is celebrate what is happening in schools across the UAE.
That might be:
- a milestone your children have reached
- an activity that has worked particularly well
- Monster Phonics resources being used in your classroom
- a display or piece of children’s work
- an idea you think other teachers might find useful
- simply something you are proud of
Where appropriate, and in line with your school’s permissions, we would also love to receive photographs or visuals from your classrooms.
We hope that future editions of The Pearl can increasingly share ideas and successes from you, creating a professional community in which schools can learn from and celebrate one another.
Monster Phonics continues to develop, and some of the most useful ideas come directly from teachers using the programme every day.
