A warm welcome back.It has been wonderful to see schools across the UAE open their doors again. I hope the return has gone smoothly.As both a parent and a colleague, I know how much this moment matters. There is something special about children being back in the classroom, learning together, with you there to guide them each day.
Resources from the Ministry of Education and Monster Phonics

By the end of this week (commencing 27 April), books and classroom resources will have been delivered to every KG and Cycle 1 school across the Emirates.With schools reopening on 20 April, we moved quickly to make sure you had access to high quality English resources as soon as possible.We would love to see these resources in action. Where appropriate, please do share photos from your classroom. We look forward to featuring some of these in future newsletters.You will also notice a session on using resources effectively. This is about helping you feel confident using everything in the classroom — so it works for you and your children.

Your next step: Phonics Fundamentals

Many schools are starting with Phonics Fundamentals, the first course in our Training Tree.You can find this in the CPD Hub on the Monster Phonics platform.It gives a clear overview of:

  • what phonics is
  • why systematic synthetic phonics matters
  • key terminology
  • the role of pure sounds in supporting teaching

Whether you are new to phonics or just want to refresh your understanding, it is a helpful place to begin.We also track completion of the four units and share this with the Ministry. This supports your journey towards becoming a certified Monster Phonics teaching professional.

Live training

Many of you joined our sessions in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in February. It was a privilege to meet you.If you were not able to attend, we are working with the Ministry to arrange further sessions. We will share dates as soon as they are confirmed.
